In the desert they gave in to their craving; in the wilderness they put God to the test.

In the desert they longed for food. In that dry and empty land they tested God.

Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness,Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years.Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said,‘ They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.’

Can He give bread also? Can He provide meat for His people?”

But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was aroused against the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very great plague.So he called the name of that place Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had yielded to craving.

because all these men who have seen My glory and the signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice,

“ Also at Taberah and Massah and Kibroth Hattaavah you provoked the Lord to wrath.
