他一发命令，蝗虫就来，蚱蜢也来，多得无法数算，

他一发话，蝗虫和蚂蚱就来，数不胜数，

他說一聲，就有蝗蟲螞蚱上來，不計其數，

他一吩咐，就有蝗蟲蝻子上來，不計其數，

主命蝗集、千百成群、不可計數、

主一言。飛蝗至。又蚱蜢。不可計。

He spoke, and the locusts came, grasshoppers without number;

He spoke, and the locusts came. There were so many of them they couldn’t be counted.

He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,

He ordered locusts to come, innumerable grasshoppers.

He spoke, and the locusts came with the grasshoppers, without number,

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Reach out with your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, so that they may come up on the land of Egypt and eat every plant of the land, everything that the hail has left.”So Moses reached out with his staff over the land of Egypt, and the Lord directed an east wind on the land all that day and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.The locusts came up over all the land of Egypt and settled in all the territory of Egypt; they were very numerous. There had never been so many locusts, nor would there be so many again.For they covered the surface of the whole land, so that the land was darkened; and they ate every plant of the land and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. Therefore nothing green was left on tree or plant of the field throughout the land of Egypt.

He also gave their crops to the grasshopper And the product of their labor to the locust.

Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.And they were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months; and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a person.And in those days people will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death will flee from them!The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like human faces.They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions.They had breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle.They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt people for five months.

“ Then I will compensate you for the years That the swarming locust has eaten, The creeping locust, the stripping locust, and the gnawing locust— My great army which I sent among you.

What the gnawing locust has left, the swarming locust has eaten; And what the swarming locust has left, the creeping locust has eaten; And what the creeping locust has left, the stripping locust has eaten.Awake, you heavy drinkers, and weep; And wail, all you wine drinkers, Because of the sweet wine, For it has been eliminated from your mouth.For a nation has invaded my land, Mighty and without number; Its teeth are the teeth of a lion, And it has the jaws of a lioness.It has made my vine a waste And my fig tree a stump. It has stripped them bare and hurled them away; Their branches have become white.
