If a trumpet is blown in a city, will not the people be afraid? If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it?

The centurion answered and said,“ Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. Then Joseph said to Pharaoh,“ The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do:The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads are seven years; the dreams are one.And the seven thin and ugly cows which came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty heads blighted by the east wind are seven years of famine.This is the thing which I have spoken to Pharaoh. God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do.Indeed seven years of great plenty will come throughout all the land of Egypt;but after them seven years of famine will arise, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine will deplete the land.So the plenty will not be known in the land because of the famine following, for it will be very severe.And the dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the Lord.

Now there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very severe, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan languished because of the famine.

Thus the Lord GOD showed me: Behold, He formed locust swarms at the beginning of the late crop; indeed it was the late crop after the king’s mowings.And so it was, when they had finished eating the grass of the land, that I said:“ O Lord GOD, forgive, I pray! Oh, that Jacob may stand, For he is small!”So the Lord relented concerning this.“ It shall not be,” said the Lord.Thus the Lord GOD showed me: Behold, the Lord GOD called for conflict by fire, and it consumed the great deep and devoured the territory.
