O Lord, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures.

How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.

How many living things you have made, O LORD! You have exhibited great skill in making all of them; the earth is full of the living things you have made.

Yahweh, how many are your works! In wisdom, you have made them all. The earth is full of your riches.

But the Lord made the earth by his power, and he preserves it by his wisdom. With his own understanding he stretched out the heavens.

O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them.

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

“ The Lord formed me from the beginning, before he created anything else.I was appointed in ages past, at the very first, before the earth began.I was born before the oceans were created, before the springs bubbled forth their waters.Before the mountains were formed, before the hills, I was born—before he had made the earth and fields and the first handfuls of soil.I was there when he established the heavens, when he drew the horizon on the oceans.I was there when he set the clouds above, when he established springs deep in the earth.I was there when he set the limits of the seas, so they would not spread beyond their boundaries. And when he marked off the earth’s foundations,I was the architect at his side. I was his constant delight, rejoicing always in his presence.And how happy I was with the world he created; how I rejoiced with the human family!“ And so, my children, listen to me, for all who follow my ways are joyful.Listen to my instruction and be wise. Don’t ignore it.Joyful are those who listen to me, watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home!For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord.But those who miss me injure themselves. All who hate me love death.”

God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

“ You alone are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you.

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.

For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills.I know every bird on the mountains, and all the animals of the field are mine.If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it.

Then God said,“ Let the earth produce every sort of animal, each producing offspring of the same kind— livestock, small animals that scurry along the ground, and wild animals.” And that is what happened.God made all sorts of wild animals, livestock, and small animals, each able to produce offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.

Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.

Give thanks to him who made the heavens so skillfully. His faithful love endures forever.

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place—

Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.

He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

He does great things too marvelous to understand. He performs countless miracles.

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

By wisdom the Lord founded the earth; by understanding he created the heavens.By his knowledge the deep fountains of the earth burst forth, and the dew settles beneath the night sky.

You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.

Then God said,“ Let the land sprout with vegetation— every sort of seed bearing plant, and trees that grow seed bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came.” And that is what happened.The land produced vegetation— all sorts of seed bearing plants, and trees with seed bearing fruit. Their seeds produced plants and trees of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.
