This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? him hath God sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the hand of the angel that appeared to him in the bush.This man led them forth, having wrought wonders and signs in Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.This is that Moses, who said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall God raise up unto you from among your brethren, like unto me.This is he that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel that spake to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received living oracles to give unto us:to whom our fathers would not be obedient, but thrust him from them, and turned back in their hearts unto Egypt,saying unto Aaron, Make us gods that shall go before us: for as for this Moses, who led us forth out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.And they made a calf in those days, and brought a sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their hands.But God turned, and gave them up to serve the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, Did ye offer unto me slain beasts and sacrifices Forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?And ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, And the star of the god Rephan, The figures which ye made to worship them: And I will carry you away beyond Babylon.Our fathers had the tabernacle of the testimony in the wilderness, even as he appointed who spake unto Moses, that he should make it according to the figure that he had seen.Which also our fathers, in their turn, brought in with Joshua when they entered on the possession of the nations, that God thrust out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;who found favor in the sight of God, and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.But Solomon built him a house.Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in houses made with hands; as saith the prophet,The heaven is my throne, And the earth the footstool of my feet: What manner of house will ye build me? saith the Lord: Or what is the place of my rest?Did not my hand make all these things?Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do ye.Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? and they killed them that showed before of the coming of the Righteous One; of whom ye have now become betrayers and murderers;ye who received the law as it was ordained by angels, and kept it not.Now when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.But they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed upon him with one accord;and they cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.And they stoned Stephen, calling upon the Lord, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

and Moses alone shall come near unto Jehovah; but they shall not come near; neither shall the people go up with him.And Moses came and told the people all the words of Jehovah, and all the ordinances: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which Jehovah hath spoken will we do.And Moses wrote all the words of Jehovah, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the mount, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

He spake unto them in the pillar of cloud: They kept his testimonies, And the statute that he gave them.

And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.

And Jehovah came down upon mount Sinai, to the top of the mount: and Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit in the midst of them?that caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? that divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

My servant Moses is not so; he is faithful in all my house:

Wondrous works in the land of Ham, And terrible things by the Red Sea.

Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, on whom ye have set your hope.For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me.But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

For he established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which he commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children;

He sent Moses his servant, And Aaron whom he had chosen.They set among them his signs, And wonders in the land of Ham.He sent darkness, and made it dark; And they rebelled not against his words.He turned their waters into blood, And slew their fish.Their land swarmed with frogs In the chambers of their kings.He spake, and there came swarms of flies, And lice in all their borders.He gave them hail for rain, And flaming fire in their land.He smote their vines also and their fig- trees, And brake the trees of their borders.He spake, and the locust came, And the grasshopper, and that without number,And did eat up every herb in their land, And did eat up the fruit of their ground.He smote also all the first- born in their land, The chief of all their strength.And he brought them forth with silver and gold; And there was not one feeble person among his tribes.Egypt was glad when they departed; For the fear of them had fallen upon them.He spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to give light in the night.They asked, and he brought quails, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven.He opened the rock, and waters gushed out; They ran in the dry places like a river.For he remembered his holy word, And Abraham his servant.And he brought forth his people with joy, And his chosen with singing.And he gave them the lands of the nations; And they took the labor of the peoples in possession:That they might keep his statutes, And observe his laws.
