Moses took the blood, splattered it on the people, and said,“ This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you concerning all these words.”

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping your word.I have sought you with all my heart; don’t let me wander from your commands.I have treasured your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you.

These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart.Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead.Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your city gates.

Then the king stood at his post and made a covenant in the LORD’s presence to follow the LORD and to keep his commands, his decrees, and his statutes with all his heart and with all his soul in order to carry out the words of the covenant written in this book.

Both were righteous in God’s sight, living without blame according to all the commands and requirements of the Lord.

My son, don’t forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commands;

Be careful not to forget the covenant of the LORD your God that he made with you, and make an idol for yourselves in the shape of anything he has forbidden you.

Additionally then, brothers and sisters, we ask and encourage you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have received instruction from us on how you should live and please God— as you are doing— do this even more.
