人能敬主。必蒙青睞。父之憐子。尚有不逮。

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;

A father is tender and kind to his children. In the same way, the Lord is tender and kind to those who have respect for him.

As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.

Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him.

Like as a father pitieth his children, So Jehovah pitieth them that fear him.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

Like as a father pitieth[ his] children,[ so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on his faithful followers.

Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him.

And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said,“ My child, don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you.For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father?If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all.Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever?For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness.No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening— it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.

“ Is not Israel still my son, my darling child?” says the Lord.“ I often have to punish him, but I still love him. That’s why I long for him and surely will have mercy on him.

But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children

For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.

“ You fathers— if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead?Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not!

Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name.“ They will be my people,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child.

His son said to him,‘ Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’“ But his father said to the servants,‘ Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet.

Tears of joy will stream down their faces, and I will lead them home with great care. They will walk beside quiet streams and on smooth paths where they will not stumble. For I am Israel’s father, and Ephraim is my oldest child.

These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.

Lord, look down from heaven; look from your holy, glorious home, and see us. Where is the passion and the might you used to show on our behalf? Where are your mercy and compassion now?Surely you are still our Father! Even if Abraham and Jacob would disown us, Lord, you would still be our Father. You are our Redeemer from ages past.

No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Did I give birth to them? Did I bring them into the world? Why did you tell me to carry them in my arms like a mother carries a nursing baby? How can I carry them to the land you swore to give their ancestors?

“ Brothers— you sons of Abraham, and also you God fearing Gentiles— this message of salvation has been sent to us!

These towns were all fortified with high walls and barred gates. We also took many unwalled villages at the same time.

Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.

“ But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.

For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.

“ Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said,“ for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them,‘ I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
