敬畏之者、耶和華矜憫之、如父之恤其子兮、

敬畏主者、主憐恤之、如父之憐恤其子、

人能敬主。必蒙青睞。父之憐子。尚有不逮。

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;

A father is tender and kind to his children. In the same way, the Lord is tender and kind to those who have respect for him.

As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.

Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him.

Like as a father pitieth his children, So Jehovah pitieth them that fear him.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

Like as a father pitieth[ his] children,[ so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him.

And have you forgotten the exhortation addressed to you as sons?“ My son, do not scorn the Lord’s discipline or give up when he corrects you.“ For the Lord disciplines the one he loves and chastises every son he accepts.”Endure your suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline?But if you do not experience discipline, something all sons have shared in, then you are illegitimate and are not sons.Besides, we have experienced discipline from our earthly fathers and we respected them; shall we not submit ourselves all the more to the Father of spirits and receive life?For they disciplined us for a little while as seemed good to them, but he does so for our benefit, that we may share his holiness.Now all discipline seems painful at the time, not joyful. But later it produces the fruit of peace and righteousness for those trained by it.

Indeed, the people of Israel are my dear children. They are the children I take delight in. For even though I must often rebuke them, I still remember them with fondness. So I am deeply moved with pity for them and will surely have compassion on them. I, the LORD, affirm it!

But the LORD continually shows loyal love to his faithful followers, and is faithful to their descendants,

For the LORD disciplines those he loves, just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights.

What father among you, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish?Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

Then those who respected the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD took notice. A scroll was prepared before him in which were recorded the names of those who respected the LORD and honored his name.“ They will belong to me,” says the LORD who rules over all,“ in the day when I prepare my own special property. I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him.

Then his son said to him,‘ Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’But the father said to his slaves,‘ Hurry! Bring the best robe, and put it on him! Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet!

They will come back shedding tears of contrition. I will bring them back praying prayers of repentance. I will lead them besides streams of water, along smooth paths where they will never stumble. I will do this because I am Israel’s father; Ephraim is my firstborn son.’”

For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

Look down from heaven and take notice, from your holy, majestic palace! Where are your zeal and power? Do not hold back your tender compassion!For you are our father, though Abraham does not know us and Israel does not recognize us. You, LORD, are our father; you have been called our protector from ancient times.

The LORD takes delight in his faithful followers, and in those who wait for his loyal love.

Did I conceive this entire people? Did I give birth to them, that you should say to me,‘ Carry them in your arms, as a foster father bears a nursing child,’ to the land which you swore to their fathers?

Brothers, descendants of Abraham’s family, and those Gentiles among you who fear God, the message of this salvation has been sent to us.

All of these cities were fortified by high walls, gates, and locking bars; in addition there were a great many open villages.

So pray this way: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored,

But for you who respect my name, the sun of vindication will rise with healing wings, and you will skip about like calves released from the stall.

For as the skies are high above the earth, so his loyal love towers over his faithful followers.

Jesus replied,“ Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father. Go to my brothers and tell them,‘ I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
