For the Lord will rebuild Zion and appear in his glory.

The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem, and gathers the exiles of Israel.

You wrongly evict widows among my people from their cherished homes. You defraud their children of their prized inheritance.

Because you favor Zion, do what is good for her! Fortify the walls of Jerusalem!

This is the plan I have devised for the whole earth; my hand is ready to strike all the nations.”

All the sheep of Kedar will be gathered to you; the rams of Nebaioth will be available to you as sacrifices. They will go up on my altar acceptably, and I will bestow honor on my majestic temple.

to strengthen those who mourn in Zion, by giving them a turban, instead of ashes, oil symbolizing joy, instead of mourning, a garment symbolizing praise, instead of discouragement. They will be called oaks of righteousness, trees planted by the LORD to reveal his splendor.

The sky declares his justice, and all the nations see his splendor.

“ I hate their deeds and thoughts! So I am coming to gather all the nations and ethnic groups; they will come and witness my splendor.

I will rebuild you, my dear children Israel, so that you will once again be built up. Once again you will take up the tambourine and join in the happy throng of dancers.

In the future the mountain of the LORD’s temple will endure as the most important of mountains, and will be the most prominent of hills. All the nations will stream to it,many peoples will come and say,“ Come, let us go up to the LORD’s mountain, to the temple of the God of Jacob, so he can teach us his requirements, and we can follow his standards.” For Zion will be the center for moral instruction; the LORD will issue edicts from Jerusalem.

For God will deliver Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah, and his people will again live in them and possess Zion.

I will restore Judah and Israel and will rebuild them as they were in days of old.

“ You there! Flee from the northland!” says the LORD,“ for like the four winds of heaven I have scattered you,” says the LORD.“ Escape, Zion, you who live among the Babylonians!”For the LORD who rules over all says to me that for his own glory he has sent me to the nations that plundered you– for anyone who touches you touches the pupil of his eye.“ I am about to punish them in such a way,” he says,“ that they will be looted by their own slaves.” Then you will know that the LORD who rules over all has sent me.“ Sing out and be happy, Zion my daughter! For look, I have come; I will settle in your midst,” says the LORD.“ Many nations will join themselves to the LORD on the day of salvation, and they will also be my people. Indeed, I will settle in the midst of you all.” Then you will know that the LORD who rules over all has sent me to you.The LORD will take possession of Judah as his portion in the holy land and he will choose Jerusalem once again.Be silent in the LORD’s presence, all people everywhere, for he is being moved to action in his holy dwelling place.
