In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him,[ even] into his ears.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came[ up] to his holy dwelling place,[ even] unto heaven.

Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I[ am] a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.

Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto[ my] soul.I sink in deep mire, where[ there is] no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

Tomorrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him[ to be] captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I[ am] a stranger with thee,[ and] a sojourner, as all my fathers[ were].

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that[ our] prayer should not pass through.

Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.

I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication.Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.

He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.My soul hath[ them] still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

Blessed[ is] he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive;[ and] he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until[ these] calamities be overpast.I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth[ all things] for me.He shall send from heaven, and save me[ from] the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

When I remember these[ things], I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.

Trust in him at all times;[ ye] people, pour out your heart before him: God[ is] a refuge for us. Selah.

And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set[ him] in safety[ from him that] puffeth at him.

I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
