驕矜自慢兮。目無主宰。刼奪人財兮。逍遙法外。

He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.

He brags about what his heart desires. He speaks well of those who always want more. He attacks the Lord with his words.

For the wicked boasts of the desires of his soul, and the one greedy for gain curses and renounces the Lord.

For they brag about their evil desires; they praise the greedy and curse the Lord.

For the wicked one boasts about his own cravings; the one who is greedy curses and despises the LORD.

For the wicked boasts of his soul’s desire, And the greedy person curses and shows disrespect to the Lord.

For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, And the covetous renounceth, yea, contemneth Jehovah.

Yes, the wicked man boasts because he gets what he wants; the one who robs others curses and rejects the LORD.

They utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves.

“ Yet your eyes and your heart are for nothing but your covetousness, For shedding innocent blood, And practicing oppression and violence.”

Are there yet the treasures of wickedness In the house of the wicked, And the short measure that is an abomination?Shall I count pure those with the wicked scales, And with the bag of deceitful weights?For her rich men are full of violence, Her inhabitants have spoken lies, And their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

And I will say to my soul,“ Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’

Those who trust in their wealth And boast in the multitude of their riches,

whose owners slaughter them and feel no guilt; those who sell them say,‘ Blessed be the Lord, for I am rich’; and their shepherds do not pity them.For I will no longer pity the inhabitants of the land,” says the Lord.“ But indeed I will give everyone into his neighbor’s hand and into the hand of his king. They shall attack the land, and I will not deliver them from their hand.”So I fed the flock for slaughter, in particular the poor of the flock. I took for myself two staffs: the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bonds; and I fed the flock.I dismissed the three shepherds in one month. My soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever, Their dwelling places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names.Nevertheless man, though in honor, does not remain; He is like the beasts that perish.This is the way of those who are foolish, And of their posterity who approve their sayings. You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

“ Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice, And lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.

“ A cunning Canaanite! Deceitful scales are in his hand; He loves to oppress.And Ephraim said,‘ Surely I have become rich, I have found wealth for myself; In all my labors They shall find in me no iniquity that is sin.’

being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,

Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, But such as keep the law contend with them.

“ If I have made gold my hope, Or said to fine gold,‘ You are my confidence’;

The enemy said,‘ I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; My desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, My hand shall destroy them.’

For the iniquity of his covetousness I was angry and struck him; I hid and was angry, And he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.

And He said to them,“ Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars, and cast your carcasses on the lifeless forms of your idols; and My soul shall abhor you.

who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Come now, you who say,“ Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”;

and said,“ What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually.

Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him.And He said to them,“ You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

They also opened their mouth wide against me, And said,“ Aha, aha! Our eyes have seen it.”

Yet he does not mean so, Nor does his heart think so; But it is in his heart to destroy, And cut off not a few nations.For he says,‘ Are not my princes altogether kings?Is not Calno like Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? Is not Samaria like Damascus?As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, Whose carved images excelled those of Jerusalem and Samaria,As I have done to Samaria and her idols, Shall I not do also to Jerusalem and her idols?’”

Though while he lives he blesses himself( For men will praise you when you do well for yourself),

nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

“ Woe to him who covets evil gain for his house, That he may set his nest on high, That he may be delivered from the power of disaster!

“ And when the Lord saw it, He spurned them, Because of the provocation of His sons and His daughters.

and so it may not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying,‘ I shall have peace, even though I follow the dictates of my heart’— as though the drunkard could be included with the sober.

They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression; They speak loftily.They set their mouth against the heavens, And their tongue walks through the earth.

But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
