Yes, the wicked man boasts because he gets what he wants; the one who robs others curses and rejects the LORD.

He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.

He brags about what his heart desires. He speaks well of those who always want more. He attacks the Lord with his words.

For the wicked boasts of the desires of his soul, and the one greedy for gain curses and renounces the Lord.

For they brag about their evil desires; they praise the greedy and curse the Lord.

For the wicked one boasts about his own cravings; the one who is greedy curses and despises the LORD.

For the wicked boasts of his soul’s desire, And the greedy person curses and shows disrespect to the Lord.

They spew out threats and speak defiantly; all the evildoers boast.

But you are always thinking and looking for ways to increase your wealth by dishonest means. Your eyes and your heart are set on killing some innocent person and committing fraud and oppression.

“ I will not overlook, O sinful house, the dishonest gain you have hoarded away, or the smaller-than-standard measure I hate so much.I do not condone the use of rigged scales, or a bag of deceptive weights.The city’s rich men think nothing of resorting to violence; her inhabitants lie, their tongues speak deceptive words.

And I will say to myself,“ You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’

They trust in their wealth and boast in their great riches.

Those who buy them slaughter them and are not held guilty; those who sell them say,‘ Blessed be the LORD, for I am rich.’ Their own shepherds have no compassion for them.Indeed, I will no longer have compassion on the people of the land,” says the LORD,“ but instead I will turn every last person over to his neighbor and his king. They will devastate the land, and I will not deliver it from them.”So I began to shepherd the flock destined for slaughter, the most afflicted of all the flock. Then I took two staffs, calling one“ Pleasantness” and the other“ Binders,” and I tended the flock.Next I eradicated the three shepherds in one month, for I ran out of patience with them and, indeed, they detested me as well.

Their grave becomes their permanent residence, their eternal dwelling place. They name their lands after themselves,but, despite their wealth, people do not last, they are like animals that perish.This is the destiny of fools, and of those who approve of their philosophy.( Selah)

You destroy liars; the LORD despises violent and deceitful people.

Whom have you taunted and hurled insults at? At whom have you shouted and looked so arrogantly? At the Holy One of Israel!

The businessmen love to cheat; they use dishonest scales.Ephraim boasts,“ I am very rich! I have become wealthy! In all that I have done to gain my wealth, no one can accuse me of any offense that is actually sinful.”

Saul replied,“ May you be blessed by the LORD, for you have had compassion on me.

They are filled with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice. They are rife with envy, murder, strife, deceit, hostility. They are gossips,

Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law contend with them.

“ If I have put my confidence in gold or said to pure gold,‘ You are my security!’

The enemy said,‘ I will chase, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire will be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.’

I was angry because of their sinful greed; I attacked them and angrily rejected them, yet they remained disobedient and stubborn.

Then he said to them,“ Watch out and guard yourself from all types of greed, because one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self- control, savage, opposed to what is good,treacherous, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure rather than loving God.

I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars, and I will stack your dead bodies on top of the lifeless bodies of your idols. I will abhor you.

Although they fully know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but also approve of those who practice them.

Those who long to be rich, however, stumble into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is the root of all evils. Some people in reaching for it have strayed from the faith and stabbed themselves with many pains.

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,

For you can be confident of this one thing: that no person who is immoral, impure, or greedy( such a person is an idolater) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

So put to deat h whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry.

Come now, you who say,“ Today or tomorrow we will go into this or that town and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.”

and said,“ What will you give me to betray him into your hands?” So they set out thirty silver coins for him.From that time on, Judas began looking for an opportunity to betray him.

Why do you boast about your evil plans, O powerful man? God’s loyal love protects me all day long!

The Pharisees( who loved money) heard all this and ridiculed him.But Jesus said to them,“ You are the ones who justify yourselves in men’s eyes, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly prized among men is utterly detestable in God’s sight.

They are ready to devour me; they say,“ Aha! Aha! We’ve got you!”

But he does not agree with this, his mind does not reason this way, for his goal is to destroy, and to eliminate many nations.Indeed, he says:“ Are not my officials all kings?Is not Calneh like Carchemish? Hamath like Arpad? Samaria like Damascus?I overpowered kingdoms ruled by idols, whose carved images were more impressive than Jerusalem’s or Samaria’s.As I have done to Samaria and its idols, so I will do to Jerusalem and its idols.”

He pronounces this blessing on himself while he is alive:“ May men praise you, for you have done well!”

thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The one who builds his house by unjust gain is as good as dead. He does this so he can build his nest way up high and escape the clutches of disaster.

But the LORD took note and despised them because his sons and daughters enraged him.

When such a person hears the words of this oath he secretly blesses himself and says,“ I will have peace though I continue to walk with a stubborn spirit.” This will destroy the watered ground with the parched.

They mock and say evil things; they proudly threaten violence.They speak as if they rule in heaven, and lay claim to the earth.

But as it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
