驕矜自慢兮。目無主宰。刼奪人財兮。逍遙法外。

He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.

He brags about what his heart desires. He speaks well of those who always want more. He attacks the Lord with his words.

For the wicked boasts of the desires of his soul, and the one greedy for gain curses and renounces the Lord.

For they brag about their evil desires; they praise the greedy and curse the Lord.

For the wicked one boasts about his own cravings; the one who is greedy curses and despises the LORD.

For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire; He blesses the greedy and renounces the Lord.

For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, And the covetous renounceth, yea, contemneth Jehovah.

Yes, the wicked man boasts because he gets what he wants; the one who robs others curses and rejects the LORD.

For the wicked boasts of his heart’s cravings. He blesses the greedy and condemns Yahweh.

They pour out words, they speak arrogantly; All who do injustice boast.

“ But your eyes and your heart Are intent only upon your own dishonest gain, And on shedding innocent blood, And on practicing oppression and extortion.”

Is there still a person in the wicked house, Along with treasures of wickedness, And a short measure that is cursed?Can I justify dishonest balances, And a bag of fraudulent weights?For the rich people of the city are full of violence, Her residents speak lies, And their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

And I will say to myself,“ You have many goods stored up for many years to come; relax, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!” ’

Those who trust in their wealth And boast in the abundance of their riches?

Those who buy them slaughter them and go unpunished, and each of those who sell them says,‘ Blessed be the Lord, for I have become rich!’ And their own shepherds have no compassion for them.For I will no longer have compassion for the inhabitants of the land,” declares the Lord;“ but behold, I will let the people fall, each into another’s power and into the power of his king; and they will crush the land, and I will not rescue them from their power.”So I pastured the flock doomed to slaughter, therefore also the afflicted of the flock. And I took for myself two staffs: the one I called Favor, and the other I called Union; so I pastured the flock.Then I did away with the three shepherds in one month, for my soul was impatient with them, and their soul also was tired of me.

Their inner thought is that their houses are forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have named their lands after their own names.But man in his splendor will not endure; He is like the animals that perish.This is the way of those who are foolish, And of those after them who approve their words. You destroy those who speak lies; The Lord loathes the person of bloodshed and deceit.

Whom have you taunted and blasphemed? And against whom have you raised your voice And haughtily raised your eyes? Against the Holy One of Israel!

A merchant, in whose hands are fraudulent balances, Loves to exploit.And Ephraim said,“ I have certainly become rich, I have found wealth for myself; In all my labors they will find in me No wrongdoing, which would be sin.”

people having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice; they are gossips,

Those who abandon the Law praise the wicked, But those who keep the Law strive against them.

“ If I have put my confidence in gold, And called fine gold my trust,

The enemy said,‘ I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoils; I shall be satisfied against them; I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.’

Because of the wrongful act of his unjust gain I was angry and struck him; I hid My face and was angry, And he went on turning away, in the way of his heart.

But He said to them,“ Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one is affluent does his life consist of his possessions.”

For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self control, brutal, haters of good,treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

I then will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and pile your remains on the remains of your idols, for My soul will loathe you.

and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.

But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge people into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For this you know with certainty, that no sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, which amounts to an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Therefore, treat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.

Come now, you who say,“ Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.”

and said,“ What are you willing to give me to betray Him to you?” And they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.And from then on he looked for a good opportunity to betray Jesus.

Why do you boast in evil, you mighty man? The faithfulness of God endures all day long.

Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and were ridiculing Him.And He said to them,“ You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of people, but God knows your hearts; because that which is highly esteemed among people is detestable in the sight of God.

They opened their mouth wide against me; They said,“ Aha, aha! Our eyes have seen it!”

Yet it does not so intend, Nor does it plan so in its heart, But rather it is its purpose to destroy And to eliminate many nations.For it says,“ Are not my officers all kings?Is not Calno like Carchemish, Or Hamath like Arpad, Or Samaria like Damascus?As my hand has reached to the kingdoms of the idols, Whose carved images were greater than those of Jerusalem and Samaria,Shall I not do the same to Jerusalem and her images Just as I have done to Samaria and her idols?”

Though while he lives he congratulates himself— And though people praise you when you do well for yourself—

nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

“ Woe to him who makes evil profit for his household, To put his nest on high, To be saved from the hand of catastrophe!

“ The Lord saw this, and spurned them Because of the provocation by His sons and daughters.

And it shall be when he hears the words of this curse, that he will consider himself fortunate in his heart, saying,‘ I will do well though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart in order to destroy the watered land along with the dry.’

They mock and wickedly speak of oppression; They speak from on high.They have set their mouth against the heavens, And their tongue parades through the earth.

But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil.
