You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,

Lord, you hear the desires of those who are hurting. You cheer them up and give them hope. You listen to their cries.

O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear

Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.

LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble; you will strengthen their hearts. You will listen carefully,

Jehovah, thou hast heard the desire of the meek: Thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear;

LORD, you have heard the request of the oppressed; you make them feel secure because you listen to their prayer.

Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,

O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the intent of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and fix their heart toward You.

He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.

“ It shall come to pass That before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking, I will hear.

And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying,‘ God, be merciful to me a sinner!’I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

For the needy shall not always be forgotten; The expectation of the poor shall not perish forever.

because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its inhabitants, and you humbled yourself before Me, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,” says the Lord.

When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble.

Now when he was in affliction, he implored the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,and prayed to Him; and He received his entreaty, heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.

Also the hand of God was on Judah to give them singleness of heart to obey the command of the king and the leaders, at the word of the Lord.

He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, And shall not despise their prayer.

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for“ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

The preparations of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison.Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying,“ Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.Then the angel said to him,“ Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him,“ Put on your garment and follow me.”So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.And when Peter had come to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying.And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer.When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate.But they said to her,“ You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said,“ It is his angel.”Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished.But motioning to them with his hand to keep silent, he declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said,“ Go, tell these things to James and to the brethren.” And he departed and went to another place.Then, as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers about what had become of Peter.But when Herod had searched for him and not found him, he examined the guards and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judea to Caesarea, and stayed there.

in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.

He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.His heart is established; He will not be afraid, Until he sees his desire upon his enemies.

The fear of the wicked will come upon him, And the desire of the righteous will be granted.

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:“ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced that God had prepared the people, since the events took place so suddenly.

For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said:“ Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,who by the mouth of Your servant David have said:‘ Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things?The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ.’“ For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered togetherto do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But the prayer of the upright is His delight.
