竊水而飲、其味甚甘、盜餅而食、其趣深長、不知寓彼室者、就死地、主之者、墮陰府。

Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man, But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel.

Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it swirls around smoothly;At the last it bites like a serpent, And stings like a viper.

This is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth, And says,“ I have done no wickedness.”

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead.

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.

Come, let us take our fill of love until morning; Let us delight ourselves with love.For my husband is not at home; He has gone on a long journey;He has taken a bag of money with him, And will come home on the appointed day.”
