謂無知者曰、竊取之水乃甘、暗食之餅有味、

竊水而飲、其味甚甘、盜餅而食、其趣深長、不知寓彼室者、就死地、主之者、墮陰府。

Food gained by fraud is sweet to a man, but afterward his mouth is full of gravel.

Don’t gaze at wine because it is red, when it gleams in the cup and goes down smoothly.In the end it bites like a snake and stings like a viper.

This is the way of an adulteress: she eats and wipes her mouth and says,“ I’ve done nothing wrong.”

But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desires.Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death.

When Gehazi came to the hill, he took the gifts from them and stored them in the house. And sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind. For apart from the law sin is dead.

Then the woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom. So she took some of its fruit and ate it; she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

For it is shameful even to mention what is done by them in secret.
