The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.

All who fear the Lord will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech.

驕橫是淪亡的前奏，狂傲是敗落的預兆。

耶和華所憎惡的事有六樣，連祂厭惡的事共有七樣：高傲的眼睛，撒謊的舌頭，殺害無辜的手，圖謀詭計的心，奔跑作惡的腳，撒謊的假證人和在弟兄中挑起爭端的人。

我從你的法則中得到智慧，我厭惡一切詭詐之道。

你們要恨惡邪惡，喜愛良善，在城門口伸張正義，也許萬軍之上帝耶和華會恩待約瑟的餘民。

不可虛情假意地愛人。要嫉惡如仇，一心向善。

不可設陰謀彼此相害，不可以起假誓為樂，因為這些都是我所憎惡的。這是耶和華說的。』」

耶和華雖在高天之上，仍看顧卑微的人，祂對驕傲的人也瞭若指掌。

義人的口發出智慧，詭詐的舌必被割掉。
