For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.

For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her return is better than fine gold.She is more precious than rubies. None of the things you can desire are to be compared to her.

It can’t be gotten for gold, neither will silver be weighed for its price.It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.Gold and glass can’t equal it, neither will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.No mention will be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.The topaz of Ethiopia will not equal it, nor will it be valued with pure gold.

There is gold and abundance of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a rare jewel.
