則見在愚拙少年中、有一少者更無慧心、

Among those who were childish I saw a young man who had no sense.

and I have seen among the simple, I have perceived among the youths, a young man lacking sense,

I saw some naive young men, and one in particular who lacked common sense.

But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself.

“ How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.

for giving prudence to those who are simple, knowledge and discretion to the young—

“ Let all who are simple come to my house!” To those who have no sense she says,

“ Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them.

The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them;

“ My people are fools; they do not know me. They are senseless children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil; they know not how to do good.”

The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.

The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
