要知道，被她刺透而倒下的人有許多，連無數強者都被她殺死；

蓋彼所傷而仆者孔多、所殺者甚眾、

維彼淫婦、傷人孔多、殺人亦不少。

蓋被其傷仆者不少、被其殺害者甚眾、

Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng.

She has brought down a lot of men. She has killed a huge crowd.

for many a victim has she laid low, and all her slain are a mighty throng.

For she has been the ruin of many; many men have been her victims.

For many are the victims she has brought to ruin, And numerous are all those slaughtered by her.

For she has cast down many wounded, And all who were slain by her were strong men.

For she hath cast down many wounded: Yea, all her slain are a mighty host.

For she has brought many down to death; her victims are countless.

for she has brought down many fatally wounded, and all those she has slain are many.

for she has thrown down many wounded. Yes, all her slain are a mighty army.

Didn’t King Solomon of Israel sin in matters like this? There was not a king like him among many nations. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, yet foreign women drew him into sin.

I fear that when I come my God will again humiliate me in your presence, and I will grieve for many who sinned before and have not repented of the moral impurity, sexual immorality, and sensuality they practiced.

Why then have you despised the LORD’s command by doing what I consider evil? You struck down Uriah the Hethite with the sword and took his wife as your own wife— you murdered him with the Ammonite’s sword.Now therefore, the sword will never leave your house because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hethite to be your own wife.’“ This is what the LORD says,‘ I am going to bring disaster on you from your own family: I will take your wives and give them to another before your very eyes, and he will sleep with them in broad daylight.

Let us not commit sexual immorality as some of them did, and in a single day twenty-three thousand people died.

He will get a beating and dishonor, and his disgrace will never be removed.

King Solomon loved many foreign women in addition to Pharaoh’s daughter: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite womenfrom the nations about which the LORD had told the Israelites,“ You must not intermarry with them, and they must not intermarry with you, because they will turn your heart away to follow their gods.” To these women Solomon was deeply attached in love.
