Allow no sleep to your eyes, no slumber to your eyelids.

“ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest,”Then your poverty will come in like a drifter, And your need like an armed man.

Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get things out of his house.And whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.

Therefore, stay alert— for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—so that he does not come suddenly and find you asleep.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.
