The Lord hates proud eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that kill those who aren’t guilty.

Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue.What shall be given to you, Or what shall be done to you, You false tongue?

Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal truthfully are His delight.

When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure.

For You will save the humble people, But will bring down haughty looks.

and also because of the innocent blood that he had shed; for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, which the Lord would not pardon.

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Hear the word of the Lord, You children of Israel, For the Lord brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land:“ There is no truth or mercy Or knowledge of God in the land.By swearing and lying, Killing and stealing and committing adultery, They break all restraint, With bloodshed upon bloodshed.

If they say,“ Come with us, Let us lie in wait to shed blood; Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause;

There is a generation— oh, how lofty are their eyes! And their eyelids are lifted up.

A faithful witness does not lie, But a false witness will utter lies.

A haughty look, a proud heart, And the plowing of the wicked are sin.

The look on their countenance witnesses against them, And they declare their sin as Sodom; They do not hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought evil upon themselves.

‘ Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to slay an innocent person.’“ And all the people shall say,‘ Amen!’

Moreover the Lord says:“ Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, And walk with outstretched necks And wanton eyes, Walking and mincing as they go, Making a jingling with their feet,

A lying tongue hates those who are crushed by it, And a flattering mouth works ruin.

For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity.No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.They hatch vipers’ eggs and weave the spider’s web; He who eats of their eggs dies, And from that which is crushed a viper breaks out.Their webs will not become garments, Nor will they cover themselves with their works; Their works are works of iniquity, And the act of violence is in their hands.Their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; Wasting and destruction are in their paths.

lest innocent blood be shed in the midst of your land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and thus guilt of bloodshed be upon you.

Therefore pride serves as their necklace; Violence covers them like a garment.Their eyes bulge with abundance; They have more than heart could wish.They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression; They speak loftily.

You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts.

Lord, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me.

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for“ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

Let the lying lips be put to silence, Which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

Excellent speech is not becoming to a fool, Much less lying lips to a prince.
