諸子宜聽、勿違我口所言、

爾小子、尚其聽之、毋棄我言。

Listen, my sons, to the instruction of a father, And pay attention so that you may gain understanding,

They are not to escape from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart.

“ Now then, sons, listen to me, For blessed are those who keep my ways.Listen to instruction and be wise, And do not neglect it.Blessed is the person who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at my doorposts.For one who finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord.But one who sins against me injures himself; All those who hate me love death.”

Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, And pay attention to the words of my mouth.

My son, see that they do not escape from your sight; Comply with sound wisdom and discretion,

Extend your ear and hear the words of the wise, And apply your mind to my knowledge;For it will be pleasant if you keep them within you, So that they may be ready on your lips.So that your trust may be in the Lord, I have taught you today, you indeed.Have I not written to you excellent things Of counsels and knowledge,To make you know the certainty of the words of truth, So that you may correctly answer him who sent you?

See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns us from heaven.
