You will say,“ How I hated discipline! If only I had not ignored all the warnings!

and you will say,“ How I hated discipline, and how my heart despised correction.

And say:“ How I have hated instruction, And my heart despised correction!

And say, How have I hated instruction, And my heart despised reproof;

and you will say,“ How I hated discipline, and how my heart despised correction.

And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

And you will say,“ How I hated discipline! My heart spurned reproof!

and say,“ How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

One who loves discipline loves knowledge, But one who hates rebuke is stupid.

“ How long, you naive ones, will you love simplistic thinking? And how long will scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge?

And you neglected all my advice And did not want my rebuke;

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.

A fool rejects his father’s discipline, But he who complies with rebuke is sensible.

Poverty and shame will come to one who neglects discipline, But one who complies with rebuke will be honored.

For you yourself hate discipline, And you throw My words behind you.

But they said,“ Get out of the way!” They also said,“ This one came in as a foreigner, and already he is acting like a judge; now we will treat you worse than them!” So they pressed hard against Lot and moved forward to break the door.

“ Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying,‘ This is what the Lord of armies says:“ Return now from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not listen or pay attention to Me,” declares the Lord.“ Your fathers, where are they? Now he went out the next day, and behold, two Hebrews were fighting with each other; and he said to the offender,“ Why are you striking your companion?”But he said,“ Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and said,“ Surely the matter has become known!”

Yet I sent you all My servants the prophets again and again, saying,“ Oh, do not do this abominable thing which I hate.”

As he was talking with him, the king said to him,“ Have we appointed you to be a royal counselor? Stop! Why should you be put to death?” Then the prophet stopped and said,“ I know that God has planned to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”

but they continually mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against His people, until there was no remedy.

For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And rebukes for discipline are the way of life

But they refused to pay attention, and turned a stubborn shoulder and plugged their ears from hearing.They also made their hearts as hard as a diamond so that they could not hear the Law and the words which the Lord of armies had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets; therefore great wrath came from the Lord of armies.And just as He called and they would not listen, so they called and I would not listen,” says the Lord of armies;“ but I scattered them with a storm wind among all the nations whom they did not know. So the land was desolated behind them so that no one went back and forth, since they made the pleasant land desolate.”

Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord.They did not accept my advice, They disdainfully rejected every rebuke from me.
