Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.

絕邪僻於口、屏乖謬於脣、

口勿言惡、

爾口勿出詭詐、爾唇勿發乖謬、

Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

Don’t speak with twisted words. Keep evil talk away from your lips.

Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.

Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech.

Don’t let your mouth speak dishonestly, and don’t let your lips talk deviously.

Rid yourself of a deceitful mouth And keep devious speech far from you.

Put away from thee a wayward mouth, And perverse lips put far from thee.

Don’t let your mouth speak dishonestly, and don’t let your lips talk deviously.

Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

Remove perverse speech from your mouth; keep devious talk far from your lips.

Put away from yourself a perverse mouth. Put corrupt lips far from you.

If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; Nothing crooked or perverse is in them.

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,

Therefore, putting away lying,“ Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.“ Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,nor give place to the devil.Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.

A worthless person, a wicked man, Walks with a perverse mouth;

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.

But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

If iniquity were in your hand, and you put it far away, And would not let wickedness dwell in your tents;

useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

He who has a deceitful heart finds no good, And he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil.

Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel?
