要聽勸言，接受訓誨，使你終久有智慧。

你要側耳聽智慧人的言語，留心領會我的知識。

我兒啊，要留心聽我的智慧，側耳聽我的聰明，

對智慧說「你是我的姊妹」，稱呼聰明為親人，

我兒啊，要遵守你父親的命令，不可離棄你母親的教誨。要常掛在你心上，繫在你頸項上。你行走，她必引導你，你躺臥，她必保護你，你睡醒，她必與你談論。因為誡命是燈，教誨是光，管教的責備是生命的道，
