Was it not because of things like these that King Solomon of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel. But the foreign wives made even him sin!

Furthermore, he must not marry many wives lest his affections turn aside, and he must not accumulate much silver and gold.

for she has brought down many fatally wounded, and all those she has slain are many.Her house is the way to the grave, going down to the chambers of death.

lest you give your vigor to others and your years to a cruel person,lest strangers devour your strength, and your labor benefit another man’s house.And at the end of your life you will groan when your flesh and your body are wasted away.

King Solomon fell in love with many foreign women( besides Pharaoh’s daughter), including Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites.

Old and new wine take away the understanding of my people.
