僕治其主、愚而富侈、

即奴為王、愚妄者豐富、

a servant who becomes king, a godless fool who gets plenty to eat,

The first is a servant who becomes a king. The second is a foolish and ungodly person who gets plenty to eat.

a slave when he becomes king, and a fool when he is filled with food;

a slave who becomes a king, an overbearing fool who prospers,

a servant when he becomes king, a fool when he is stuffed with food,

Under a slave when he becomes king, And a fool when he is satisfied with food,

For a servant when he reigns, A fool when he is filled with food,

For a servant when he is king; And a fool when he is filled with food;

a servant when he becomes king, a fool when he is stuffed with food,

For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat;

under a servant who becomes king, under a fool who is stuffed with food,

Delicate living is not appropriate for a fool, much less for a servant to have rule over princes.

I have seen servants on horses, and princes walking like servants on the earth.

I will give boys to be their princes, and children shall rule over them.The people will be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor. The child will behave himself proudly against the old man, and the wicked against the honorable.

Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail. This woman was intelligent and had a beautiful face; but the man was surly and evil in his doings. He was of the house of Caleb.

Nabal answered David’s servants, and said,“ Who is David? Who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants who break away from their masters these days.Shall I then take my bread, my water, and my meat that I have killed for my shearers, and give it to men who I don’t know where they come from?”

Please don’t let my lord pay attention to this worthless fellow, Nabal; for as his name is, so is he. Nabal is his name, and folly is with him; but I, your servant, didn’t see my lord’s young men, whom you sent.

When he had brought him down, behold, they were spread around over all the ground, eating, drinking, and dancing, because of all the great plunder that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.

A needy man who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain which leaves no crops.

Abigail came to Nabal; and behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king. Nabal’s heart was merry within him, for he was very drunk. Therefore she told him nothing until the morning light.In the morning, when the wine had gone out of Nabal, his wife told him these things, and his heart died within him, and he became as a stone.About ten days later, Yahweh struck Nabal, so that he died.
