I am more stupid than any other person, and I lack a human’s ability to understand.

Surely I am only a brute, not a man; I do not have human understanding.

Surely I am only a dumb animal and not a man. I don’t understand as other men do.

Surely I am too stupid to be a man. I have not the understanding of a man.

I am too stupid to be human, and I lack common sense.

I am certainly more stupid than any man, And I do not have the understanding of a man;

Surely I am more stupid than any man, And do not have the understanding of a man.

Surely I am more brutish than any man, And have not the understanding of a man;

I was stupid and didn’t understand; I was an unthinking animal toward you.

You asked,“ Who is this who conceals my counsel with ignorance?” Surely I spoke about things I did not understand, things too wondrous for me to know.You said,“ Listen now, and I will speak. When I question you, you will inform me.”I had heard reports about you, but now my eyes have seen you.Therefore, I reject my words and am sorry for them; I am dust and ashes.

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become a fool so that he can become wise.

Everyone is stupid and ignorant. Every goldsmith is put to shame by his carved image, for his cast images are a lie; there is no breath in them.

and you will say,“ How I hated discipline, and how my heart despised correction.

For one can see that the wise die; the foolish and stupid also pass away. Then they leave their wealth to others.

But these people, like irrational animals— creatures of instinct born to be caught and destroyed— slander what they do not understand, and in their destruction they too will be destroyed.They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. They consider it a pleasure to carouse in broad daylight. They are spots and blemishes, delighting in their deceptions while they feast with you.They have eyes full of adultery that never stop looking for sin. They seduce unstable people and have hearts trained in greed. Children under a curse!They have gone astray by abandoning the straight path and have followed the path of Balaam, the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of wickednessbut received a rebuke for his lawlessness: A speechless donkey spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
