約押說：“我不能與你這樣耽誤時間。”於是約押手裡拿起三根短矛，趁押沙龍還懸掛在橡樹上活著的時候，就刺透了他的心。給約押拿武器的十個年輕人圍著押沙龍，攻擊他，把他殺死。約押吹響號角，眾人就回來，不再追趕以色列人；因為約押攔阻眾人繼續追趕。他們把押沙龍的屍體抬起來，丟在樹林中的一個大坑裡，又在上面堆起一大堆石頭。以色列眾人都逃跑，各回自己的家去了。

愛雅的女兒利斯巴拿了一塊麻布，為自己鋪在磐石上。從開始收割的時候，直到雨水從天上傾倒在他們的屍身上的時候，白天她不讓空中的飛鳥落在屍身上，夜間不讓田間的走獸來糟踐他們。

“咒罵自己父母的，必要把他處死；他咒罵自己的父母，必須承擔流血的罪責。

那非利士人又對大衛說：“你到我這裡來吧！我要把你的肉給空中的飛鳥和田野的走獸吃。”

他喝酒，喝醉了，就在帳棚裡光著身子。迦南的父親含看見了自己父親的下體，就去告訴在外面的兩個兄弟。於是，閃和雅弗二人拿了件外衣，搭在自己的肩膀上，倒退著進去，蓋上他們父親的下體；因為他們背著臉，所以沒有看見他們父親的下體。挪亞酒醒以後，知道小兒子對他所作的事，就說：“迦南應當受咒詛，他必給自己的兄弟，作奴僕的奴僕。”又說：“耶和華，閃的神，是應當稱頌的；願迦南作他的奴僕。願神使雅弗擴展，使雅弗住在閃的帳棚裡；願迦南作他的奴僕。”

你的屍體必成為空中的飛鳥和地上的走獸的食物；必沒有人來把牠們嚇走。

咒罵父母的，他的燈必在漆黑的幽暗中熄滅。

押沙龍偶然遇上了大衛的臣僕。那時押沙龍騎著騾子，騾子從一棵大橡樹茂密的樹枝下經過，押沙龍的頭髮被橡樹枝緊緊勾住，他就吊在空中，他所騎的騾子卻跑開了。有一個人看見了，就告訴約押說：“看哪！我看見押沙龍懸在一棵橡樹上。”
