those who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not cleansed of their filth;

Some are pure in their own eyes. But their dirty sins haven’t been washed away.

There are those who are clean in their own eyes but are not washed of their filth.

All a man’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord evaluates the motives.

you claim,“ I am innocent. His anger is sure to turn away from me.” But I will certainly judge you because you have said,“ I have not sinned.”

holding to the form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people!

They say,‘ Keep to yourself, don’t come near me, for I am too holy for you!’ These practices are smoke in My nostrils, a fire that burns all day long.

I will also sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols.

He saved us— not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy— through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

And He told them:“ You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly admired by people is revolting in God’s sight.

“ Wash yourselves. Cleanse yourselves. Remove your evil deeds from My sight. Stop doing evil.

To the pure, everything is pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; in fact, both their mind and conscience are defiled.They profess to know God, but they deny Him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, and disqualified for any good work.

for in his own eyes he flatters himself too much to discover and hate his sin.

Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Wash the evil from your heart, Jerusalem, so that you will be delivered. How long will you harbor malicious thoughts within you?

Wash away my guilt and cleanse me from my sin.

And some of you used to be like this. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

But the Lord said to him:“ Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and evil.Fools! Didn’t He who made the outside make the inside too?

This man Micah had a shrine, and he made an ephod and household idols, and installed one of his sons to be his priest.

“ I am pure, without transgression; I am clean and have no guilt.

When Samuel came to him, Saul said,“ May the Lord bless you. I have carried out the Lord’s instructions.”Samuel replied,“ Then what is this sound of sheep and cattle I hear?”

Even if you wash with lye and use a great amount of soap, the stain of your sin is still in front of Me. This is the Lord God’s declaration.How can you protest,“ I am not defiled; I have not followed the Baals”? Look at your behavior in the valley; acknowledge what you have done. You are a swift young camel twisting and turning on her way,a wild donkey at home in the wilderness. She sniffs the wind in the heat of her desire. Who can control her passion? All who look for her will not become tired; they will find her in her mating season.
