Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.The Lord protects and preserves them— they are counted among the blessed in the land— he does not give them over to the desire of their foes.The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.

The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.As it is written:“ They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.”Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever.They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honor.

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you; even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood!

Whoever says to the guilty,“ You are innocent,” will be cursed by peoples and denounced by nations.
