1 Chronicles 16 7-1 Chronicles 16 36
Then on that day did David first ordain to give thanks unto Jehovah, by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.O give thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name; Make known his doings among the peoples.Sing unto him, sing praises unto him; Talk ye of all his marvellous works.Glory ye in his holy name; Let the heart of them rejoice that seek Jehovah.Seek ye Jehovah and his strength; Seek his face evermore.Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,O ye seed of Israel his servant, Ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.He is Jehovah our God; His judgments are in all the earth.Remember his covenant for ever, The word which he commanded to a thousand generations,The covenant which he made with Abraham, And his oath unto Isaac,And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a statute, To Israel for an everlasting covenant,Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, The lot of your inheritance; When ye were but a few men in number, Yea, very few, and sojourners in it;And they went about from nation to nation, And from one kingdom to another people. He suffered no man to do them wrong; Yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,Saying, Touch not mine anointed ones, And do my prophets no harm.Sing unto Jehovah, all the earth; Show forth his salvation from day to day.Declare his glory among the nations, His marvellous works among all the peoples. For great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised: He also is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols: But Jehovah made the heavens.Honor and majesty are before him: Strength and gladness are in his place.Ascribe unto Jehovah, ye kindreds of the peoples, Ascribe unto Jehovah glory and strength;Ascribe unto Jehovah the glory due unto his name: Bring an offering, and come before him; Worship Jehovah in holy array.Tremble before him, all the earth: The world also is established that it cannot be moved.Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; And let them say among the nations, Jehovah reigneth.Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; Let the field exult, and all that is therein; Then shall the trees of the wood sing for joy before Jehovah; For he cometh to judge the earth.O give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever. And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, And gather us together and deliver us from the nations, To give thanks unto thy holy name, And to triumph in thy praise.Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And all the people said, Amen, and praised Jehovah.

1 Kings 17 3-1 Kings 17 24
Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. So he went and did according unto the word of Jehovah; for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land. And the word of Jehovah came unto him, saying,Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Sidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain thee.So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thy hand. And she said, As Jehovah thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in the jar, and a little oil in the cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said; but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it forth unto me, and afterward make for thee and for thy son.For thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, The jar of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that Jehovah sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. The jar of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spake by Elijah. And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? thou art come unto me to bring my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son!And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into the chamber, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.And he cried unto Jehovah, and said, O Jehovah my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto Jehovah, and said, O Jehovah my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again. And Jehovah hearkened unto the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived. And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother; and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth. And the woman said to Elijah, Now I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of Jehovah in thy mouth is truth.

Job 29:11-20
For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me; And when the eye saw me, it gave witness unto me:Because I delivered the poor that cried, The fatherless also, that had none to help him.The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me; And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: My justice was as a robe and a diadem.I was eyes to the blind, And feet was I to the lame.I was a father to the needy: And the cause of him that I knew not I searched out.And I brake the jaws of the unrighteous, And plucked the prey out of his teeth. Then I said, I shall die in my nest, And I shall multiply my days as the sand:My root is spread out to the waters, And the dew lieth all night upon my branch:My glory is fresh in me, And my bow is renewed in my hand.
