Though you grind a fool in a mortar, grinding them like grain with a pestle, you will not remove their folly from them.

那些住在埃及地巴忒羅知道自己妻子向別神燒香的，與旁邊站立的眾婦女，聚集成羣，回答耶利米說：「論到你奉耶和華的名向我們所說的話，我們必不聽從。

有人告訴埃及王說：「百姓逃跑。」法老和他的臣僕就向百姓變心，說：「我們容以色列人去，不再服事我們，這做的是甚麼事呢？」

仇敵說：我要追趕，我要追上；我要分擄物，我要在他們身上稱我的心願。我要拔出刀來，親手殺滅他們。

第五位天使把碗倒在獸的座位上，獸的國就黑暗了。人因疼痛就咬自己的舌頭；又因所受的疼痛，和生的瘡，就褻瀆天上的神，並不悔改所行的。
