For there those who carried us away captive asked of us a song, And those who plundered us requested mirth, Saying,“ Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”How shall we sing the LORD’s song In a foreign land?

They spend the night naked, without clothing, And have no covering in the cold.They are wet with the showers of the mountains, And huddle around the rock for want of shelter.“ Some snatch the fatherless from the breast, And take a pledge from the poor.They cause the poor to go naked, without clothing; And they take away the sheaves from the hungry.

Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him.

And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, So is the lazy man to those who send him.
