The man who boasts about a gift that does not exist is like clouds and wind without rain.

夸口送礼物却食言的人，就像没有雨水的风和云。

空夸送礼却没有实行的人，就像无雨的风云。

为没送的礼物夸耀，就如有云有风却无雨。

空誇贈送禮物的，好像無雨的風雲。

人空誇禮物而不肯贈送，就好像有風有雲卻無雨。

誇口送禮物卻食言的人，就像沒有雨水的風和雲。

空誇送禮卻沒有實行的人，就像無雨的風雲。

自誇送禮而不實在送禮的人、是只有雲霧跟風、而沒有雨。

為沒送的禮物誇耀，就如有雲有風卻無雨。

妄詡饋遺、如有風雲而無雨、

言欲予人而不予、猶風起雲布、而雨不下。

妄自誇詡、言予人而不予、如有風有雲而雨不降、

Like clouds and wind without rain is one who boasts of gifts never given.

A person who brags about gifts never given is like wind and clouds that don’t produce rain.

Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of a gift he does not give.

A person who promises a gift but doesn’t give it is like clouds and wind that bring no rain.

The one who boasts about a gift that does not exist is like clouds and wind without rain.

Like clouds and wind without rain Is a person who boasts of his gifts falsely.

Whoever falsely boasts of giving Is like clouds and wind without rain.

As clouds and wind without rain, So is he that boasteth himself of his gifts falsely.

Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift[ is like] clouds and wind without rain.

Like cloudy skies and wind that produce no rain, so is the one who boasts of a gift not given.

As clouds and wind without rain, so is he who boasts of gifts deceptively.

Many a man proclaims his own loyalty, but who can find a trustworthy man?

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Then Zedekiah son of Chenaanah made iron horns and said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ You will gore the Arameans with these until they are finished off.’”

These people are discontented grumblers, walking according to their desires; their mouths utter arrogant words, flattering people for their own advantage.

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is praised forever, knows I am not lying.

For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.And no wonder! For Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.So it is no great thing if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their destiny will be according to their works.I repeat: No one should consider me a fool. But if you do, at least accept me as a fool, so I too may boast a little.What I say in this matter of boasting, I don’t speak as the Lord would, but foolishly.Since many boast in an unspiritual way, I will also boast.

These are the ones who are like dangerous reefs at your love feasts. They feast with you, nurturing only themselves without fear. They are waterless clouds carried along by winds; trees in late autumn— fruitless, twice dead, pulled out by the roots;wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shameful deeds; wandering stars for whom the blackness of darkness is reserved forever!

“ Two men went up to the temple complex to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.The Pharisee took his stand and was praying like this:‘ God, I thank You that I’m not like other people— greedy, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.’“ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even raise his eyes to heaven but kept striking his chest and saying,‘ God, turn Your wrath from me— a sinner!’I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

They have gone astray by abandoning the straight path and have followed the path of Balaam, the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousnessbut received a rebuke for his transgression: A donkey that could not talk spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s irrationality.These people are springs without water, mists driven by a whirlwind. The gloom of darkness has been reserved for them.For by uttering boastful, empty words, they seduce, with fleshly desires and debauchery, people who have barely escaped from those who live in error.They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, since people are enslaved to whatever defeats them.
