我經過懶惰人的田地，全無心思之人的葡萄園；

我經過懶惰人的田地，經過缺乏心智者的葡萄園；

怠惰者之田、無知者之葡萄園、我過之焉、

I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense;

I went past the field of someone who didn’t want to work. I went past the vineyard of someone who didn’t have any sense.

I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of a man lacking sense,

I walked by the field of a lazy person, the vineyard of one with no common sense.

I went by the field of a slacker and by the vineyard of one lacking sense.

I passed by the field of a lazy one, And by the vineyard of a person lacking sense,

I went by the field of the lazy man, And by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding;

I went by the field of the sluggard, And by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

I went by the field of a slacker and by the vineyard of a man lacking sense.

I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of one who lacks wisdom.

According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity, and sow trouble, reap the same.

“ I will show you, listen to me; that which I have seen I will declare

Look at this. We have searched it. It is so. Hear it, and know it for your good.”

All this I have seen, and applied my mind to every work that is done under the sun. There is a time in which one man has power over another to his hurt.So I saw the wicked buried. Indeed they came also from holiness. They went and were forgotten in the city where they did this. This also is vanity.Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding. He who does it destroys his own soul.

I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.

Go to the ant, you sluggard. Consider her ways, and be wise;which having no chief, overseer, or ruler,provides her bread in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.How long will you sleep, sluggard? When will you arise out of your sleep?A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:so your poverty will come as a robber, and your scarcity as an armed man.A worthless person, a man of iniquity, is he who walks with a perverse mouth,who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet, who motions with his fingers,in whose heart is perverseness, who devises evil continually, who always sows discord.Therefore his calamity will come suddenly. He will be broken suddenly, and that without remedy.There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him:arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief,a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers.

Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold, the tears of those who were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.Therefore I praised the dead who have been long dead more than the living who are yet alive.Yes, better than them both is him who has not yet been, who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.Then I saw all the labor and achievement that is the envy of a man’s neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.The fool folds his hands together and ruins himself.Better is a handful, with quietness, than two handfuls with labor and chasing after wind.Then I returned and saw vanity under the sun.There is one who is alone, and he has neither son nor brother. There is no end to all of his labor, neither are his eyes satisfied with wealth.“ For whom then, do I labor and deprive my soul of enjoyment?” This also is vanity. Yes, it is a miserable business.

He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who chases fantasies is void of understanding.

All this I have seen in my days of vanity: there is a righteous man who perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man who lives long in his evildoing.

Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has discernment, but a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.

The upright will see it, and be glad. All the wicked will shut their mouths.
