Do not testify against your neighbor without cause— would you use your lips to mislead?

不可无故作见证陷害邻舍，也不可用嘴欺骗人。

Don’t be a witness against your neighbor for no reason. Would you use your lips to tell lies?

Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow is one who gives false testimony against a neighbor.

The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death.But they did not find any, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward

But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law:‘ They hated me without reason.’

In those letters she wrote:“ Proclaim a day of fasting and seat Naboth in a prominent place among the people.But seat two scoundrels opposite him and have them bring charges that he has cursed both God and the king. Then take him out and stone him to death.”So the elders and nobles who lived in Naboth’s city did as Jezebel directed in the letters she had written to them.They proclaimed a fast and seated Naboth in a prominent place among the people.Then two scoundrels came and sat opposite him and brought charges against Naboth before the people, saying,“ Naboth has cursed both God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death.

Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?

Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Ruthless witnesses come forward; they question me on things I know nothing about.

An honest witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.

“ Do not spread false reports. Do not help a guilty person by being a malicious witness.

But Doeg the Edomite, who was standing with Saul’s officials, said,“ I saw the son of Jesse come to Ahimelek son of Ahitub at Nob.Ahimelek inquired of the Lord for him; he also gave him provisions and the sword of Goliath the Philistine.”

Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices

Then the Lord said to Satan,“ Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason.”

A false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever pours out lies will perish.

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars— they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Since they hid their net for me without cause and without cause dug a pit for me,

“ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

“ Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder,“ Crucify him!”

A false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever pours out lies will not go free.

A false witness will perish, but a careful listener will testify successfully.
