Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow, so is the one who testifies against his neighbor as a false witness.

The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were trying to find false testimony against Jesus so that they could put him to death.But they did not find anything, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward

Now this happened to fulfill the word that is written in their law,‘ They hated me without reason.’

This is what she wrote:“ Observe a time of fasting and seat Naboth in front of the people.Also seat two villains opposite him and have them testify,‘ You cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”The men of the city, the leaders and the nobles who lived there, followed the written orders Jezebel had sent them.They observed a time of fasting and put Naboth in front of the people.The two villains arrived and sat opposite him. Then the villains testified against Naboth right before the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they dragged him outside the city and stoned him to death.

Why do you boast about your evil plans, O powerful man? God’s loyal love protects me all day long!

Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the sexually immoral, and the murderers, and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood!

Violent men perjure themselves, and falsely accuse me.

A truthful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies.

“ You must not give a false report. Do not make common cause with the wicked to be a malicious witness.

But Doeg the Edomite, who had stationed himself with the servants of Saul, replied,“ I saw this son of Jesse come to Ahimelech son of Ahitub at Nob.He inquired of the LORD for him and gave him provisions. He also gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.”

Do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with its practices

Then the LORD said to Satan,“ Have you considered my servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a pure and upright man, one who fears God and turns away from evil. And he still holds firmly to his integrity, so that you stirred me up to destroy him without reason.”

A false witness will not go unpunished, and the one who spouts out lies will perish.

But to the cowards, unbelievers, detestable persons, murderers, the sexually immoral, and those who practice magic spells, idol worshipers, and all those who lie, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. That is the second death.”

I did not harm them, but they hid a net to catch me and dug a pit to trap me.

“ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

He asked,“ Why? What wrong has he done?” But they shouted more insistently,“ Crucify him!”

A false witness will not go unpunished, and the one who spouts out lies will not escape punishment.

A lying witness will perish, but the one who reports accurately speaks forever.
