因為來自耶和華和君王的災難會突然興起；來自他們兩者的災患，誰能知道呢？

其災害之起、必突至、其年壽之絕、孰得知、○

其災速至、無威國憲、不可逭也。

因其災忽至、主與王降罰、孰能先知、○

for those two will send sudden destruction on them, and who knows what calamities they can bring?

The Lord and the king will suddenly destroy them. Who knows what trouble those two can bring?

So Saul took his sword and fell on it.When his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell on his sword and died with him.So Saul died with his three sons, his armor bearer, and all his men on that day together.Now when the people of Israel who were on the other side of the valley, with those who were beyond the Jordan, saw that the men of Israel had fled and that Saul and his sons were dead, they abandoned the cities and fled; then the Philistines came and settled in them.

When the sons of Israel fled from Judah, God handed them over to them.Abijah and his people defeated them with a great slaughter, so that five hundred thousand chosen men of Israel fell slain.

The terror of a king is like the roaring of a lion; One who provokes him to anger forfeits his own life.

The people of Israel were defeated there by the servants of David, and the slaughter there that day was great, twenty thousand men.For the battle there was spread over the whole countryside, and the forest devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.

And as he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split open;and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, their households, and all the people who belonged to Korah with all their possessions.So they and all that belonged to them went down alive to Sheol; and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.Then all Israel who were around them fled at their outcry, for they said,“ The earth might swallow us!”Fire also came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.

The fury of a king is like messengers of death; But a wise person will appease it.
