Lie not in wait as a wicked man against the dwelling of the righteous; do no violence to his home;

你这恶人，不要埋伏攻击义人的家；不要毁坏他安居之所。

義士安居、惡人勿陰加陷害、

惟爾惡人、勿窺善人之家、勿擾其居、

Do not lurk like a thief near the house of the righteous, do not plunder their dwelling place;

Don’t hide and wait like a burglar near a godly person’s house. Don’t rob their home.

Don’t wait in ambush at the home of the godly, and don’t raid the house where the godly live.

Don’t set an ambush, you wicked one, at the camp of the righteous man; don’t destroy his dwelling.

Do not lie in ambush, you wicked person, against the home of the righteous; Do not destroy his resting place;

Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; Do not plunder his resting place;

Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous; Destroy not his resting- place:

Wicked man, don’t set an ambush, at the camp of the righteous man; don’t destroy his dwelling.

Lay not wait, O wicked[ man], against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

Do not lie in wait like the wicked against the place where the righteous live; do not assault his home.

Don’t lay in wait, wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous. Don’t destroy his resting place;

Now come down, O king, according to all your heart’s desire to come down, and our part shall be to surrender him into the king’s hand.”And Saul said,“ May you be blessed by the Lord, for you have had compassion on me.Go, make yet more sure. Know and see the place where his foot is, and who has seen him there, for it is told me that he is very cunning.See therefore and take note of all the lurking places where he hides, and come back to me with sure information. Then I will go with you. And if he is in the land, I will search him out among all the thousands of Judah.”

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.And Nob, the city of the priests, he put to the sword; both man and woman, child and infant, ox, donkey and sheep, he put to the sword.

If they say,“ Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood; let us ambush the innocent without reason;

The arrogant have hidden a trap for me, and with cords they have spread a net; beside the way they have set snares for me. Selah

and plotted together in order to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.

asking as a favor against Paul that he summon him to Jerusalem— because they were planning an ambush to kill him on the way.

He sits in ambush in the villages; in hiding places he murders the innocent. His eyes stealthily watch for the helpless;he lurks in ambush like a lion in his thicket; he lurks that he may seize the poor; he seizes the poor when he draws him into his net.The helpless are crushed, sink down, and fall by his might.

As they went up the hill to the city, they met young women coming out to draw water and said to them,“ Is the seer here?”

They stir up strife, they lurk; they watch my steps, as they have waited for my life.

Do not move the ancient landmark that your fathers have set.

The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death.

but their plot became known to Saul. They were watching the gates day and night in order to kill him,

My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.

For behold, they lie in wait for my life; fierce men stir up strife against me. For no transgression or sin of mine, O Lord,

Now the son of Paul’s sister heard of their ambush, so he went and entered the barracks and told Paul.

But I was like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter. I did not know it was against me they devised schemes, saying,“ Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more.”
