If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider[ it]? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth[ not] he know[ it]? and shall[ not] he render to[ every] man according to his works?

你若说：“这事我未曾知道”，那衡量人心的岂不明白吗？保守你命的岂不知道吗？他岂不按各人所行的报应各人吗？

你若说：“看哪，这事我们不知道”，那衡量人心的岂不明白吗？保护你性命的岂不知道吗？他岂不按各人所做的报应各人吗？

你若说：“看哪，这事我们不知道”，那衡量人心的岂不明白吗？保护你性命的岂不知道吗？他岂不按各人所做的报应各人吗？

不要推说自己毫不知情，鉴察人心的主洞悉一切，保守你生命的上帝知情，祂必按你的行为报应你。

如果你说：“这事我不知道。”那衡量人心的不明白吗？那看顾你性命的不晓得吗？他不按照各人的行为报应各人吗？

如果你说：“看哪，我不知道这事！”难道衡量人心的那一位不了解吗？难道守护你灵魂的那一位不知道吗？难道他不照着各人所做的回报各人吗？

你若說：這事我未曾知道，那衡量人心的豈不明白嗎？保守你命的豈不知道嗎？他豈不按各人所行的報應各人嗎？

你若說：「看哪，這事我們不知道」，那衡量人心的豈不明白嗎？保護你性命的豈不知道嗎？他豈不按各人所做的報應各人嗎？

爾若曰、此非我所知、而權衡人心者、豈不度之、保佑爾命者、豈不知之、豈不依人所行而報之、

勿諉曰不知、鑒察人心、保爾生命者、莫不悉爾隱微、彼豈不視人所行、而加賞罰。

爾若諉曰、此我所不知、爾當思鑒察人心者必明曉、保爾生命者必洞悉、必按人所行者施報於人、

If you say,“ But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?

Don’t say,“ But we didn’t know anything about this.” Doesn’t the God who knows what you are thinking see it? Doesn’t the God who guards your life know it? He will pay back everyone for what they have done.

If you say,“ Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?

Don’t excuse yourself by saying,“ Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve.

If you say,“ But we didn’t know about this,” won’t he who weighs hearts consider it? Won’t he who protects your life know? Won’t he repay a person according to his work?

If you say,“ See, we did not know this,” Does He who weighs the hearts not consider it? And does He who watches over your soul not know it? And will He not repay a person according to his work?

If you say,“ Surely we did not know this,” Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?

If thou sayest, Behold, we knew not this; Doth not he that weigheth the hearts consider it? And he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? And shall not he render to every man according to his work?

If you say,“ But we didn’t know about this,” won’t He who weighs hearts consider it? Won’t He who protects your life know? Won’t He repay a person according to his work?

If you say,“ But we did not know about this,” does not the one who evaluates hearts consider? Does not the one who guards your life know? Will he not repay each person according to his deeds?

If you say,“ Behold, we didn’t know this,” doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?

For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to[ his] ways.

If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for[ he that is] higher than the highest regardeth; and[ there be] higher than they.

Every way of a man[ is] right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for[ the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Also unto thee, O Lord,[ belongeth] mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward[ is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is[ the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out,[ as out] of the middle of a sling.

For the word of God[ is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and[ is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things[ are] naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited[ me] in the night; thou hast tried me,[ and] shalt find nothing; I am purposed[ that] my mouth shall not transgress.

And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet[ are] like fine brass;

But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath[ is], and whose[ are] all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes[ are] open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things[ done] in[ his] body, according to that he hath done, whether[ it be] good or bad.

For the ways of man[ are] before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

I the LORD search the heart,[ I] try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways,[ and] according to the fruit of his doings.

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

I[ am] he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.

Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
