不要吃吝嗇人的飯，不可貪圖他的美味。

不可吃吝嗇人的飯，也不可貪戀他的美食。

不可喫小心眼兒人的飯；不可貪好他的美味；

你不要吃吝嗇人的餅，也不要貪戀他的美食；

勿食眈眈者之餅、勿貪其珍饈、

宴友而睚眦、勿與共食、貪其珍錯。

勿坐吝嗇人之席、勿貪其珍饈、

Do not eat the food of a begrudging host, do not crave his delicacies;

Don’t eat the food of anyone who doesn’t want to share it. Don’t long for his fancy food.

Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies,

Don’t eat with people who are stingy; don’t desire their delicacies.

Don’t eat a stingy person’s bread, and don’t desire his choice food,

Do not eat the bread of a miser, Nor desire his delicacies;

Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, Neither desire thou his dainties:

Do not eat the food of a stingy person, do not crave his delicacies;

Don’t eat the food of him who has a stingy eye, and don’t crave his delicacies:

Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice deeds of wickedness With people who do wrong; And may I not taste their delicacies.

Be careful that there is no mean spirited thought in your heart, such as,‘ The seventh year, the year of release of debts, is near,’ and your eye is malicious toward your poor brother, and you give him nothing; then he may cry out to the Lord against you, and it will be a sin in you.

Do not desire his delicacies, For it is deceptive food.

But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s choice food or with the wine which he drank; so he sought permission from the commander of the officials that he might not defile himself.Now God granted Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the commander of the officials.The commander of the officials said to Daniel,“ I am afraid of my lord the king, who has allotted your food and your drink; for why should he see your faces looking gaunt in comparison to the youths who are your own age? Then you would make me forfeit my head to the king.”

One who is generous will be blessed, Because he gives some of his food to the poor.

Is it not lawful for me to do what I want with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?’

A person with an evil eye hurries after wealth And does not know that poverty will come upon him.

The refined and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her delicateness and tenderness, will be hostile toward the husband she cherishes and toward her son and daughter,

deeds of greed, wickedness, deceit, indecent behavior, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness.
