豈可注目虛無、蓋貨財誠生羽翼、如鷹飛戾天、

毋注目浮榮、蓋貨財之去、速如鷹飛、鼓翼而沖天。

爾豈可為轉瞬即無之貨財勤勞乎、貨財速去、如空中飛鷹、似乎有翼、或作爾豈可注目於貨財乎貨財速歸無有似乎有翼如空中飛鷹

Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.

因為財富不能永留，冠冕豈能存到萬代？

至於那些今世富足的人，你要囑咐他們不要自高，也不要倚賴靠不住的錢財；要倚靠那厚賜萬物給我們享受的上帝。

因為凡世界上的東西，好比肉體的情慾、眼目的情慾和今生的驕傲，都不是從父來的，而是從世界來的。

「不要為自己在地上積蓄財寶；地上有蟲子咬，能銹壞，也有賊挖洞來偷。

注意！你們這些富足人哪，要為將要臨到你們身上的災難哭泣、號咷。你們的財物腐爛了，你們的衣服被蟲子蛀了。

傳道者說：「虛空的虛空，全是虛空。」

有報信的來見約伯，說：「牛正耕地，母驢在旁邊吃草，示巴人忽然闖來，把牲畜擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「上帝從天上降下火來，把羊羣和僕人都吞滅了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「迦勒底人分成三隊忽然闖來，把駱駝擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」

我見日光之下有一件令人憂傷的禍患，就是財主積存財富，反害自己。他因遭遇不幸，財產盡失；他生了兒子，手裏卻一無所有。

他們的父親雅各對他們說：「你們害我喪失了我的兒子：約瑟不在了，西緬也不在了，你們還要帶走便雅憫！這些事都臨到我身上了。」

世人行動實係幻影，他們忙亂，真是枉然，積蓄財寶，不知將來有誰收取。

弟兄們，我是說：時候不多了。從此以後，那有妻子的，要像沒有一樣；哀哭的，不像在哀哭；快樂的，不像在快樂；購買的，像一無所得；享受這世界的，不像在享受這世界；因為這世界的局面將要過去了。

求你使我的心趨向你的法度，不趨向不義之財。求你叫我轉眼不看虛假，使我活在你的道路中。

你的眼和你的心卻專顧不義之財，流無辜人的血，行欺壓和殘暴。

傳道者說：虛空的虛空，虛空的虛空，全是虛空。

你們為何花錢買那不是食物的東西，用勞碌得來的買那無法使人飽足的呢？你們要留意聽從我的話，就能吃那美物，得享肥甘，心中喜樂。
