毋注目浮榮、蓋貨財之去、速如鷹飛、鼓翼而沖天。

爾豈可為轉瞬即無之貨財勤勞乎、貨財速去、如空中飛鷹、似乎有翼、或作爾豈可注目於貨財乎貨財速歸無有似乎有翼如空中飛鷹

Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.

When you take even a quick look at riches, they are gone. They grow wings and fly away into the sky like an eagle.

In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.

As soon as your eyes fly to it, it disappears, for it makes wings for itself and flies like an eagle to the sky.

When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.

Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.

Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings, Like an eagle that flieth toward heaven.

As soon as your eyes fly to it, it disappears, for it makes wings for itself and flies like an eagle to the sky.

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

For all that is in the world— the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life— is not from the Father but is from the world.

“ Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten.

Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher; all is vanity.

and there came a messenger to Job and said,“ The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them,and the Sabeans fell upon them and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”While he was yet speaking, there came another and said,“ The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”While he was yet speaking, there came another and said,“ The Chaldeans formed three groups and made a raid on the camels and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

There is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: riches were kept by their owner to his hurt,and those riches were lost in a bad venture. And he is father of a son, but he has nothing in his hand.

And Jacob their father said to them,“ You have bereaved me of my children: Joseph is no more, and Simeon is no more, and now you would take Benjamin. All this has come against me.”

Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!

This is what I mean, brothers: the appointed time has grown very short. From now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none,and those who mourn as though they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they had no goods,and those who deal with the world as though they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is passing away.

Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.

But you have eyes and heart only for your dishonest gain, for shedding innocent blood, and for practicing oppression and violence.”

Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity.

Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.
