The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

Those who give freely will be blessed. That’s because they share their food with those who are poor.

Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.

Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor.

A generous person will be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.

One who is generous will be blessed, Because he gives some of his food to the poor.

He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor.

My point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.Each one of you should give just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver.And God is able to make all grace overflow to you so that because you have enough of everything in every way at all times, you will overflow in every good work.Just as it is written,“ He has scattered widely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever.”Now God who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your supply of seed and will cause the harvest of your righteousness to grow.You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous on every occasion, which is producing through us thanksgiving to God,

By all these things, I have shown you that by working in this way we must help the weak, and remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he himself said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Tell them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous givers, sharing with others.In this way they will save up a treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the future and so lay hold of what is truly life.

But when you host an elaborate meal, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back. Now we make known to you, brothers and sisters, the grace of God given to the churches of Macedonia,that during a severe ordeal of suffering, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in the wealth of their generosity.

For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love you have demonstrated for his name, in having served and continuing to serve the saints.

I want you to share your food with the hungry and to provide shelter for homeless, oppressed people. When you see someone naked, clothe him! Don’t turn your back on your own flesh and blood!Then your light will shine like the sunrise; your restoration will quickly arrive; your godly behavior will go before you, and the LORD’s splendor will be your rear guard.Then you will call out, and the LORD will respond; you will cry out, and he will reply,‘ Here I am.’ You must remove the burdensome yoke from among you and stop pointing fingers and speaking sinfully.You must actively help the hungry and feed the oppressed. Then your light will dispel the darkness, and your darkness will be transformed into noonday.The LORD will continually lead you; he will feed you even in parched regions. He will give you renewed strength, and you will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring that continually produces water.Your perpetual ruins will be rebuilt; you will reestablish the ancient foundations. You will be called,‘ The one who repairs broken walls, the one who makes the streets inhabitable again.’

Then the king will say to those on his right,‘ Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’Then the righteous will answer him,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or naked and clothe you?When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’And the king will answer them,‘ I tell you the truth, just as you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did it for me.’

Am I not permitted to do what I want with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

Send your grain overseas, for after many days you will get a return.Divide your merchandise among seven or even eight investments, for you do not know what calamity may happen on earth.

How blessed is the one who treats the poor properly! When trouble comes, the LORD delivers him.May the LORD protect him and save his life! May he be blessed in the land! Do not turn him over to his enemies!The LORD supports him on his sickbed; you completely heal him from his illness.

An honorable man makes honorable plans; his honorable character gives him security.

If a fellow Israelite from one of your villages in the land that the LORD your God is giving you should be poor, you must not harden your heart or be insensitive to his impoverished condition.Instead, you must be sure to open your hand to him and generously lend him whatever he needs.Be careful lest you entertain the wicked thought that the seventh year, the year of cancellation of debts, has almost arrived, and your attitude be wrong toward your impoverished fellow Israelite and you do not lend him anything; he will cry out to the LORD against you and you will be regarded as having sinned.You must by all means lend to him and not be upset by doing it, for because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you attempt.There will never cease to be some poor people in the land; therefore, I am commanding you to make sure you open your hand to your fellow Israelites who are needy and poor in your land.

The one who shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and will not be answered.

He generously gives to the needy; his integrity endures. He will be vindicated and honored.

Likewise, the most tender and delicate of your women, who would never think of putting even the sole of her foot on the ground because of her daintiness, will turn against her beloved husband, her sons and daughters,

If I have refused to give the poor what they desired, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail,If I ate my morsel of bread myself, and did not share any of it with orphans–but from my youth I raised the orphan like a father, and from my mother’s womb I guided the widow!If I have seen anyone about to perish for lack of clothing, or a poor man without a coat,whose heart did not bless me as he warmed himself with the fleece of my sheep,

A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied.

And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
