The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

Those who give freely will be blessed. That’s because they share their food with those who are poor.

Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.

Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor.

One who is generous will be blessed, Because he gives some of his food to the poor.

He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor.

He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; For he giveth of his bread to the poor.

A generous person will be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.

Kindness to the poor is a loan to the LORD, and he will give a reward to the lender.

Be hospitable to one another without complaining.

The point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.Each person should do as he has decided in his heart— not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver.And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work.As it is written: He distributed freely; he gave to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.Now the one who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will also provide and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness.You will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.

In every way I’ve shown you that it is necessary to help the weak by laboring like this and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, because he said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Instruct them to do what is good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and willing to share,storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of what is truly life.

On the contrary, when you host a banquet, invite those who are poor, maimed, lame, or blind.

But love your enemies, do what is good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High. For he is gracious to the ungrateful and evil.Be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.“ Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure— pressed down, shaken together, and running over— will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”

We want you to know, brothers and sisters, about the grace of God that was given to the churches of Macedonia:During a severe trial brought about by affliction, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.

For God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you demonstrated for his name by serving the saints— and by continuing to serve them.

Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, to bring the poor and homeless into your house, to clothe the naked when you see him, and not to ignore your own flesh and blood?Then your light will appear like the dawn, and your recovery will come quickly. Your righteousness will go before you, and the LORD’s glory will be your rear guard.At that time, when you call, the LORD will answer; when you cry out, he will say,‘ Here I am.’ If you get rid of the yoke among you, the finger-pointing and malicious speaking,and if you offer yourself to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted one, then your light will shine in the darkness, and your night will be like noonday.The LORD will always lead you, satisfy you in a parched land, and strengthen your bones. You will be like a watered garden and like a spring whose water never runs dry.Some of you will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will restore the foundations laid long ago; you will be called the repairer of broken walls, the restorer of streets where people live.

Then the King will say to those on his right,‘ Come, you who are blessed by my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.“‘ For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in;I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me.’“ Then the righteous will answer him,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or without clothes and clothe you?When did we see you sick, or in prison, and visit you?’“ And the King will answer them,‘ Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Don’t I have the right to do what I want with what is mine? Are you jealous because I’m generous?’

Send your bread on the surface of the water, for after many days you may find it.Give a portion to seven or even to eight, for you don’t know what disaster may happen on earth.

Happy is one who is considerate of the poor; the LORD will save him in a day of adversity.The LORD will keep him and preserve him; he will be blessed in the land. You will not give him over to the desire of his enemies.The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed; you will heal him on the bed where he lies.

But a noble person plans noble things; he stands up for noble causes.

“ If there is a poor person among you, one of your brothers within any of your city gates in the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother.Instead, you are to open your hand to him and freely loan him enough for whatever need he has.Be careful that there isn’t this wicked thought in your heart,‘ The seventh year, the year of canceling debts, is near,’ and you are stingy toward your poor brother and give him nothing. He will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty.Give to him, and don’t have a stingy heart when you give, and because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you do.For there will never cease to be poor people in the land; that is why I am commanding you,‘ Open your hand willingly to your poor and needy brother in your land.’

The one who shuts his ears to the cry of the poor will himself also call out and not be answered.

He distributes freely to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted in honor.

The most sensitive and refined woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her refinement and sensitivity, will begrudge the husband she embraces, her son, and her daughter,

If I have refused the wishes of the poor or let the widow’s eyes go blind,if I have eaten my few crumbs alone without letting the fatherless eat any of it—for from my youth, I raised him as his father, and since the day I was born I guided the widow—if I have seen anyone dying for lack of clothing or a needy person without a cloak,if he did not bless me while warming himself with the fleece from my sheep,

A generous person will be enriched, and the one who gives a drink of water will receive water.

Don’t neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
