智者先機以避害、愚者前往而遭刑。

明哲人見害則避、愚拙人冒往遭刑、

The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.

Wise people see danger and go to a safe place. But childish people keep going and suffer for it.

The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.

A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

A sensible person sees danger and takes cover, but the inexperienced keep going and are punished.

A prudent person sees evil and hides himself, But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty.

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.Therefore let us not sleep, as[ do] others; but let us watch and be sober.

And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field.

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place,( whoso readeth, let him understand:)Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Whoso[ is] simple, let him turn in hither: and[ as for] him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,Stolen waters are sweet, and bread[ eaten] in secret is pleasant.But he knoweth not that the dead[ are] there;[ and that] her guests[ are] in the depths of hell.

That by two immutable things, in which[ it was] impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it[ is] for his life.
