Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty.

欺压贫穷为要利己的，并送礼与富户的，都必缺乏。

One who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth and one who gives gifts to the rich— both come to poverty.

You might treat poor people badly or give gifts to rich people. Trying to get rich in these ways will instead make you poor.

A person who gets ahead by oppressing the poor or by showering gifts on the rich will end in poverty.

Oppressing the poor to enrich oneself, and giving to the rich— both lead only to poverty.

One who oppresses the poor to make more for himself, Or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty.

He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches, And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty.

He that oppresseth the poor to increase his gain, And he that giveth to the rich, shall come only to want.

Oppressing the poor to enrich oneself, and giving to the rich— both lead only to poverty.

He that oppresseth the poor to increase his[ riches, and] he that giveth to the rich,[ shall] surely[ come] to want.

The one who oppresses the poor to increase his own gain and the one who gives to the rich– both end up only in poverty.

Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich, both come to poverty.

Do not rob the poor, because he is poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate,for the Lord will plead their cause and rob of life those who rob them.

“ Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the Lord;“ I will place him in the safety for which he longs.”

For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten.Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days.Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.

A stingy man hastens after wealth and does not know that poverty will come upon him.

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another,do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear.They made their hearts diamond-hard lest they should hear the law and the words that the Lord of hosts had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore great anger came from the Lord of hosts.“ As I called, and they would not hear, so they called, and I would not hear,” says the Lord of hosts,“ and I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations that they had not known. Thus the land they left was desolate, so that no one went to and fro, and the pleasant land was made desolate.”

And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount.But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them away; they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance.Therefore thus says the Lord: behold, against this family I am devising disaster, from which you cannot remove your necks, and you shall not walk haughtily, for it will be a time of disaster.

For he has crushed and abandoned the poor; he has seized a house that he did not build.“ Because he knew no contentment in his belly, he will not let anything in which he delights escape him.There was nothing left after he had eaten; therefore his prosperity will not endure.In the fullness of his sufficiency he will be in distress; the hand of everyone in misery will come against him.To fill his belly to the full, God will send his burning anger against him and rain it upon him into his body.He will flee from an iron weapon; a bronze arrow will strike him through.It is drawn forth and comes out of his body; the glittering point comes out of his gallbladder; terrors come upon him.Utter darkness is laid up for his treasures; a fire not fanned will devour him; what is left in his tent will be consumed.The heavens will reveal his iniquity, and the earth will rise up against him.The possessions of his house will be carried away, dragged off in the day of God’s wrath.This is the wicked man’s portion from God, the heritage decreed for him by God.”

A poor man who oppresses the poor is a beating rain that leaves no food.

And he called out,‘ Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’

Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

He said also to the man who had invited him,“ When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid.But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
