The wicked put up a bold front, but the upright give thought to their ways.

惡人厚着臉皮裝勇敢；正直人卻立定他所行的。

邪惡的人，虛張聲勢；正直的人，謹慎行事。

惡者厚其顏、正人定其行、

惡者剛愎厥心、善者慎思所行。

惡人無廉恥、正直者謹慎所行、

Sinful people try to look as if they were bold. But honest people think about how they live.

A wicked man puts on a bold face, but the upright gives thought to his ways.

The wicked bluff their way through, but the virtuous think before they act.

A wicked person puts on a bold face, but the upright one considers his way.

A wicked person displays a bold face, But as for the upright, he makes his way sure.

A wicked man hardens his face, But as for the upright, he establishes his way.

A wicked man hardeneth his face; But as for the upright, he establisheth his ways.

A wicked man puts on a bold face, but the upright man considers his way.

A wicked person shows boldness with his face, but as for the upright, he discerns his ways.

The righteousness of the blameless makes their paths straight, but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness.

“‘ Now give careful thought to this from this day on— consider how things were before one stone was laid on another in the Lord’s temple.

Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and turn away from them, that person will surely live; they will not die.

Now this is what the Lord Almighty says:“ Give careful thought to your ways.

Blessed is the one who always trembles before God, but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.

Whoever remains stiff- necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed— without remedy.

Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you.

“ Look up to the barren heights and see. Is there any place where you have not been ravished? By the roadside you sat waiting for lovers, sat like a nomad in the desert. You have defiled the land with your prostitution and wickedness.Therefore the showers have been withheld, and no spring rains have fallen. Yet you have the brazen look of a prostitute; you refuse to blush with shame.

I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to your statutes.

Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when they are punished, says the Lord.

This is what the Lord Almighty says:“ Give careful thought to your ways.

“ We will not listen to the message you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord!We will certainly do everything we said we would: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our ancestors, our kings and our officials did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and suffered no harm.

“ When he came to his senses, he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!

‘ From this day on, from this twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, give careful thought to the day when the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid. Give careful thought:Is there yet any seed left in the barn? Until now, the vine and the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree have not borne fruit.“‘ From this day on I will bless you.’”

Lord, do not your eyes look for truth? You struck them, but they felt no pain; you crushed them, but they refused correction. They made their faces harder than stone and refused to repent.
